Twitter Mistakes to Avoid

When you are roaming the web, searching for valuable Twitter related tips, what you really want is tested tips that are effective and straight to the point.

Therefore, for today’s’ post, I will be sharing with you a list of 10 simple and direct Twitter mistakes you should avoid when using Twitter:

  1. Thou shall not blabber.
  2. Thou shall not follow random tweeps just to increase one’s number of followers.
  3. Thou shall not be inactive and complacent.
  4. Thou shall not talk too much about oneself and one’s achievements.
  5. Thou shall not expect to be retweeted if thou do not retweet in return.
  6. Thou shall not take followers for granted.
  7. Thou shall not spam.
  8. Thou shall not use “eggs” as avatars.
  9. Thou shall not use generic backgrounds.
  10. Thou shall not use Twitter to stalk or harm others.

    To those who say- ‘use your own face’. There are people who have very good reasons for not using their own face, often connected with mental health issues.  I would sometimes have great problems logging in to twitter or facebook if confronted by my own face every time, and I know someone who can’t have a mirror in the house and works hard to avoid catching a glimpse of himself in shop windows. Be a bit more tolerant and understanding, please. Life isn’t always as straightforward as you seem to think it is.

      I never said use your own picture. You can use any related picture but keeping the “egg” avatar is the worst thing one can do.

    “Thou shalt not clog thine follower´s timeline”. Meaning: don´t send ten messages within a minute. That´s just annoying. One message every so often will do.

      Ummm… guess what?  If I want to send 10 tweets in a minute I can do that.  IT’S MY TL.  Click unfollow or follow more ppl so my tweets don’t flood your TL.

    Ooooh… weee… some of y’all are just too picky… I would rather follow REAL ppl w/ REAL tweets.  PERIOD.  If you don’t like a tweeter, don’t follow them instead of complaining about them.  & p.s., some of us have professions in which we cannot post a real pic or a location due to safety reasons.  Sheesh.  Your TL’s are probably *yawn*
