Ever wondered what could get you blacklisted on Twitter? Today’s post is dedicated to the top 10 tips I have for Twitter users who want to avoid getting unfollowed or blocked on Twitter:
- NEVER add your followers’ names in your ad tweets! It might seem appealing, it might seem lucrative but trust me, it is annoying and I have unfollowed and blocked many of those I was following just for that reason!
- Don’t just tweet rambles! Twitter is an endless stream of information and if you don not provide something valuable every now and then, you will eventually be unfollowed.
- Don’t be selfish! If I care enough to retweet you, you should be able to do the same or else you don’t deserve me following you and I will eventually block you. Sharing is caring and retweeting is as well.
- Don’t Overdo the Direct Messages! Especially when I start following you, I don’t want you promoting your products and services to me, let me know you on a different and deeper level then start advertising to me!
- Never Try to Cheat the Rules! Twitter will catch you, eventually and suspend your account periodically or indefinitely! Continue reading

Some people think that in order to measure the influence of a tweep on Twitter, you should only look at the number of people following him/her and hence the larger it is, the more influence that tweep has. However, the number of followers is a misleading indicator of influence!
To actually measure the influence of anybody, you need to figure out how many people are listening to them(#followers), how often do they talk to their audience (#tweets), and how often they get mentioned by others(#RT’s).
Therefore, when deciding who to add to your account, make sure to check those parameters and not only the number of followers because while someone might have a lot of followers, he/she might not be active enough to capitalize on them.
You can also refer to the Klout score to find a measure of any tweets influence or you can check your impact by going here to the Twitalyzer website which has recently released the list of the most influential tweets and contrasted it with that of most followers.

5 Most Followed People
Just like any other social interaction, there are certain rules and criteria which are favorable when using Twitter.
Because Tweepi is not just a tool, but a new way of using Twitter, we will share with you some Twitter etiquette – in the form of tips – which could help you better benefit from your tweeting experience.
1. Retweet other like you want to be retweeted!
It is easy, simple and takes one click yet makes a lot of difference. Always remember that if you want other to retweet you, you should do the same.
2. Thank tweeps in various ways:
Whether someone retweeted you, mentioned you or recommended you, it is nice to thank them in return. Your thank you could be in the form of a short tweet followed by a gratitude hashtag, or it could be a counter retweet, mention or recommendation. Continue reading

Spam, spamming and spammers represent a huge controversial topic these days and Tweepi might just be the tool you are looking for to identify and cleanup spammers!
Since there are numerous ways to use Tweepi for identifying and cleaning up those annoying – good-for-nothing – spammers, we will dedicated this section to help you learn about each and every one of them!
Today, we will see how you can easily identify spammers using the number of followers vs. number of tweets presets.
Identifying Spammers Through Followers Vs. Tweets
Compare the number of followers vs. the number of tweets. If the account has several thousand followers and less than a dozen tweets, there must be something fishy. These type of tweeps usually start following a few hundred accounts, wait a few days to see who follows back, then flush anyone who did not follow, and start over with a few hundred more!

As you all now by now, Tweepi is a Twitter tool created to help you follow and unfollow tweeps easily and effectively.
Unfollowing via Tweepi
Recently, we came across an interesting post by Soren Gordhamer in which answers a very important question when using tools such as Tweepi “When do we decide to unfollow or no longer receive another user’s updates?”
Here is what Soren has to say as a response to this infamous question:
1. Update Overload – Hold Back on the Posts, Please!
I want to know what people are doing and thinking, but I do not want to hear every little thing. If someone discovers fifteen news items a day, I would rather they put some time and thought into choosing the best three to post, instead of submitting all fifteen.
Short updates (or tweets) on social networks like Twitter allow us to do something quite phenomenal: we can now quickly and easily transfer small amounts of data from our mind into someone else’s. Large numbers of tweets often reveals that someone gives little consideration to this privilege, and as a result easily overwhelms others with information.
I generally find that if a person regularly posts more than five times a day, it is more information than I am interested in consuming, and I tend to inflow. Continue reading
